QUALITY APPROACH

JCI Accreditation Process — ACP Laboratory, CHU Mohammed VI Tanger

In this context, the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tanger has undertaken a hospital accreditation process by the standards of the Joint Commission International (JCI). Due to changes in clinical practices and therapeutic advancements, the activities of anatomical and pathological cytology (ACP) laboratories have significantly evolved in recent years.

It is essential to optimize best practices within ACP laboratories to ensure high-quality healthcare in close collaboration with clinicians. In this regard, it is imperative to establish a quality management system in the ACP laboratory and involve it in the accreditation process according to the standards of the JCI.

This accreditation aligns well with the practices of medical biology, addressing the new requirements of clinical and molecular pathology, and is particularly crucial for maintaining competitiveness in Morocco. We have initiated the initial steps in this process.
